Back to School and Puppy Love

Next week is the first day of preschool. She went to a preschool summer camp and we really like the staff and school so she’s going back there for preschool this year. She got a new fairy nap mat, a Tinker Bell backpack and a Tink lunch bag. As soon as Carys realized she could make Maddie do pretty much whatever she wanted they became best pals, much to Maddie’s dismay who is pretty tired of being chased by a shopping cart and being told to sit.

Horse Ride

A few weeks ago the preschool summer camp Carys is going to had a petting zoo for all the kids. Of course she loved it and brought this picture home yesterday from school.

4th of July in Portland

Last week we took a trip to Portland, OR. We watched fireworks on the Willamette River on the 4th. Carys liked them but kept covering her ears because it was “Too loud!”.

She also picked up some special friends along the way. We had to stop in at Kohls to buy something and the Kohls Cares for Kids book is Winnie the Pooh. We’ve been looking everywhere for the last few months for an inexpensive Pooh. Turns out they had Eeyore and Tigger too. At $5 a piece I couldn’t complain, so she got all 3. She loved putting them all to bed for their many naps and Eeyore even went to time out a few times, although I’m not sure what he did.

We walked around the city, went to the International Test Rose Garden which was huge and took a trip to the Columbia River Gorge to see Multnomah Falls.

Better Late Than Never

Well it's been over a month since we got back from Myrtle Beach. We've been super busy deep cleaning the house and giving it a much needed paint job. Even though the flights getting there and back sucked, Carys got a fever midflight to Charleston and I got one coming back we all had a blast with Brian, Kim and baby Caroline.

Mother's Day

This Mother’s Day Sean had to work and Carys and I went with Grandma and Grandpa Koehn and Aunt Brianna to the Fair Park Discovery Gardens to see the butterflies. She like the butterflies but didn’t want them to touch her. She also wouldn’t sit still for a picture, except with her mommy. :)

Easter Sunday

Saturday evening Carys started out in her adorbable rickrack jammies and woke up in the middle of the night burning up. It was a little warm in the house so I put her Punky Brewster jim-jams. They’re really Elmo and Abby Cadabby but they totally remind me of something Punky Brewster would wear. Anyway turns out she had a fever all night long. She woke up with a fever but still had a lot of fun hunting for the eggs which took all of 3 minutes. Next year the Easter Bunny is going to have to make the hiding places much more difficult.

Even though she was feeling fine, Carys and I skipped Easter brunch since baby Caroline was going and I didn’t want to chance getting her sick. There’s no way I could have kept Carys away from Caroline, she loves babies and wants to help with everything. We did go over to Grandma and Grandpa Koehn’s for dinner and to open her gifts which included a bunch of summer clothes, a new baby doll and princess wand that she thinks also doubles as a giant bubble blower.

Coloring Eggs

Egg decorating was much more hands on this year, mostly because Carys has to do EVERYTHING herself. We only one major spill, one melt down about how to get the eggs back out of the dye (clearly toddlers would prefer to stick their entire hand in and grab the egg) and no breakage. Sorry about the picture clarity. I finally figured out last night why all the pictures were coming out all blurry. Somebody got a hold of the camera and put their dirty little fingers on the lens.

Dallas Blooms

Last week Kim and I took Caroline and Carys to the Dallas Arboretum. It was a beautiful day and we had a yummy picnic lunch. Carys had to smell all the flowers.

First School Picture

The horrible, over priced school pictures have begun! Carys' first day of preschool was also picture day, I had to buy a sheet of overpriced 5X7's to commemorate. For only $150 I could have gotten an 8X10, 2 sheets of 5X7, some wallets, the master disc and copyrights. What a deal. lol
